Call people who expect your call
The safest list is people who asked to hear from you. Keep a record of when and how they agreed, and add it to the lead in CRM.
- Record consent in CRM
- Note the date and source
- Never buy random lists
Respect Do Not Call
The US has the National Do Not Call Registry and the UK has the Telephone Preference Service. When someone asks you not to call, mark the lead as Do Not Call straight away. Dialnytics keeps those leads out of Power Dialer queues.
- Check national registers
- Mark opt-outs immediately
- Train every agent
Tell people when you record
Recording rules differ between countries and US states. Some require everyone on the call to agree. The simple approach is to say at the start that the call may be recorded.
- Announce recording at the start
- Limit who can listen
- Delete recordings you no longer need
Texting needs registration
US carriers require A2P 10DLC registration before a business can send texts. Send texts only to people who agreed, identify your business and honour STOP replies.
- Register before texting
- Identify your business
- Stop when asked
This is not legal advice
Rules change and differ by country. Check the requirements for the places you call, or ask a qualified adviser.
- Review rules yearly
- Keep records
- Ask when unsure
